Alton Towers Resort has new money-saving offers for families this February half-term, as the UK’s premier theme park launches its Pirate Takeover event for 2025.
During the Pirate Takeover, from 15th to 23rd February, Alton Towers will transform into a pirate's paradise and lay on a treasure chest of live entertainment and shows, the theme park operator revealed on Tuesday.
Pirate Takeover is a special event in which select areas of the park open for two weeks, before the full reopening and launch of the 2025 season in mid-March.
Day ticket prices for the Pirate Takeover start at £15 per person, or guests can book a short-break offer from £49 per person.
The deal includes an overnight stay at one of the on-site hotels, a buffet breakfast, one day in the theme park and one day in the water park, plus 9-holes of Extraordinary Golf.
As well as the exclusive Piratey entertainment and live shows, certain areas of the park, Towers Street and Mutiny Bay, and certain rides, including Battle Galleons, will be transformed with extra pirate theming.
Kids Ride Free this spring
The Pirate Takeover comes a month before the park reopens properly for 2025, and, ahead of the new season, Alton Towers is currently taking bookings under a ‘Kids Ride Free’ promotion.
Guests booking a short break before 26th January, for stays between 15th March and 17th July, can save up to £118 (based on a family of four, two adults and two children).
The offer includes two ‘free’ days theme park entry for kids, whilst adults on the booking also get the second day’s entry for free too. The package also includes a buffet breakfast at the hotel and 9-holes of Extraordinary golf.
Alton After Dark in March
The 2025 season begins in mid-March with the Alton After Dark events.
Alton After Dark sees the park open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only, with extended hours (10am to 8pm) between Saturday 15th March to 29th March.
These weekend Alton After Dark openings kick off the 2025 season, which begins in full swing with regular park hours from Sunday 30th March.
Guests booked on the ‘Kids Ride Free’ offer between Saturday 15th March and 29th March also get to access the extended Alton After Dark park hours.
