Excitement is ramping up and guests are counting down ahead of Epic Universe’s grand opening on 22 May - and, with its latest announcement, Universal Orlando has given everyone more to look forward to.
Universal has now revealed a number of new experiences and in-park guest perks.
Guests can upgrade their days at Epic by purchasing Universal Express Passes, VIP Experiences and My Universal Photos packages.
Express Passes will likely be on many people’s wishlists as they plan and count down to their trip to Epic. The premium add-on will let holders skip the main queue at major rides across all five of Epic Universe’s themed lands.

That means short wait times for Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and the park’s soon-to-be iconic Stardust Racers rollercoaster to name just two - but, there’s no Express line at the Dragon Racer's Rally ride in Isle of Berk, Mine-Cart Madness in Super Nintendo World, and Battle at the Ministry in the Wizarding World (so, you’ll have to queue with everyone else).
Guests can also book VIP Tours which further ups the ante when it comes to priority access to rides and shows. This upgrade experience can be booked for either one day or two (one of which can be at Epic). VIP Tours are escorted by a guide.
Of course, the one ‘must have’ add-on for most guests will be the My Universal Photos service - which has been operated at the other Universal parks for many years - providing excellent, high-quality professional photos.
The photos taken via My Universal Photos are available for download, via smartphone app, and can be bought (and printed) at stores in the parks.
A more unique experience was also announced by Universal.

The Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience
The Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience, in Epic Universe’s Dark Universe area, allows guests to become “fashionably monstrous” thanks to skilled makeup artists - so, why not spend the rest of your Epic day as Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, or The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Guests can experience the ‘experiment ticket’, which is only face make-up, for $45 whilst the ‘transformation’ experience, including cosplay accessories, will cost $169 per adult and $109 per child.
