The first of the new Epic Universe hotels has now opened its doors, ahead of the new Universal theme parks launch this Spring.
Stella Nova, one of two ‘moderately priced’ resorts on the doorstep of Universal’s much-hyped new Orlando theme park welcomed its first overnight guests, who began their stays on Tuesday 21 January.
The Stell Nova Resort has some 750 space-themed rooms, including novel ‘space-station’ styled oval windows. Each room has two queen beds, sleeping up to four guests per room.
In terms of dining, the space theming continues with the resort’s Cosmos Cafe and Market, Galaxy Bar, and Galaxy Grill.
Impressively, for a resort at its anticipated price point (anywhere between $159 and around $380 this year, depending on promotional offers), the hotel shows some high-quality finishes and some facilities that wouldn’t necessarily be found at comparative resorts across town at Disney World - a well-furnished gym and fitness room, for example.
The resort pool area meanwhile has its own splash play pad, open pool bar area, and lots of sun loungers.
Universal, in a press release, highlighted that the resort included immersive experiences that “transports guests to the center of marvelous galaxies for a resort experience unlike anywhere else in the universe”.
The hotel is operated by Loews, and, it is within walking distance to the brand new Epic Universe theme park which is slated to open for the first time in May 2025.
Guests staying at Stella Nova will have the usual ‘early entry’ to the Universal theme parks, as provided across the other resort hotels.
For visits to Universal’s Islands of Adventure and the Universal Studios park, as well as the Volcano Bay water park, guests can make use of regular complimentary shuttle buses.
Universal is offering a number of ticket and accommodation promotions, available directly from its website, including special prices for annual pass holders and Florida residents (who can book for as little as $159 per night), whilst American and Canadian guests can avail of a 30% discount on our night stays at Stell Nova.
