Cork International Hotel is one of our favourite stays in Ireland, and our idea to choose an airport hotel for a bit of domestic tourism really paid off for us.
When we stayed here (just over a year ago), we thought the hotel could be a good base to explore the Rebel County in a way that would be more convenient than a break in the city.
And after a few days’ stay, we were glad to say we were right.
It's located just minutes from Cork Airport, but is much more than just an "airport hotel”. The modern and contemporary establishment offers spacious rooms, great dining, and family-friendly amenities.
Perhaps best of all, it’s out of the way of Cork city’s traffic, and is close several routes meaning you can get around easily, but, at the same time, it's not far from the city either.
If you’re looking for a comfortable and convenient base while you explore what Cork has to offer, then maybe take a look at the Cork International Hotel
Comfortable and stylish rooms
Cork International Hotel offers a variety of rooms and suites for all.
The Signature Rooms are great for couples and small families with multiple bed options, en-suite bathrooms, speedy Wi-Fi and tea/coffee facilities.
Families will love the Family Rooms, which can accommodate up to four guests, with interconnecting options available.
If you’re after a little extra comfort, the Deluxe Rooms provide king-sized beds and upgraded bathrooms, while the Executive Rooms offer a Nespresso machine, plush robes, and a workspace ideal for business travellers.
For a touch of luxury, the Cork Suites feature super-king beds, a kitchenette, and extra perks like premium toiletries and oversized towels.
Our Room
We stayed in a Signature room with two large double beds, a mini-fridge, a large desk area, and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom was complete with Paul Costello toiletries, which was a nice touch.
Everything in the room lends itself to a comfortable stay.
Best breakfast
What’s our top memory of Cork International Hotel … well, maybe, it’s the breakfast.
It’s arguably our favourite hotel breakfast in the country - or at least, it is the breakfast experience that we hold all other hotel breakfasts to.
Breakfast is served in The Atlantic Restaurant. The breakfast station was in a section of its own, behind pocket doors, adjacent to the main Atlantic dining area.
It works extremely well, and leaves the whole dining room with a more spacious and relaxed feeling, and a more enjoyable way to start to your day’s adventures.

As well as your regular buffet staples like rashers, sausages, white/black pudding, the hotel had a separate “Egg Station” where guests can request freshly cooked eggs of your choice.
Also, there was a kids station for the little ones to prepare their own pancakes, which was a lovely touch.
The New Yorker
We also dined at the New Yorker Bar & Restaurant one evening, and we enjoyed it.
Lunch and dinner is served here, in a cosy yet stylish setting, and the menu comprised a mix of classic Irish dishes and international favourites.
It’s well worth checking out should you not want to venture far from the comfort of your hotel room.
It is a four-star hotel though, and whilst the quality of the food was good, some of the menu items would be on the pricier side compared to some alternatives elsewhere.
Amenities and entertainment
During our stay, we were busy exploring much of what Cork had to offer - the whole idea was to use the hotel as a base - so, we didn’t use all of the facilities available to guests at Cork International Hotel.
Had we not been out and about as much, we definitely would have made the most of the on-site gym and family cinema room, which, from what we could tell, were fantastic additions to the hotel.
Exploring Cork and beyond
The hotel’s location makes it a great base for exploring Cork and its surroundings.
During our stay, we were easily able to visit vibrant Cork City, picture-postcard pretty Kinsale and Fota Wildlife Park to name a few.
Why we loved It
Cork International Hotel is a fantastic choice for families, business travelers, and couples looking for a comfortable, well-located stay with good dining and entertainment options.
It’s not a luxury resort, but for a mid-range hotel, it delivers on value, friendly service, excellent amenities, and a relaxed atmosphere.
Would we stay again? Absolutely!
