Pools, spas, and gym facilities
Grand Floridian has two swimming pools, the stylish courtyard pool located immediately behind the hotel’s main building, and the more lively beach pool.
The Courtyard Pool offers a relaxing atmosphere for guests with a ‘zero-entry’ in the shallows deepening to around 5 feet. It is a heated pool, and it also has a poolside whirlpool jacuzzi.
At the Grand Floridian’s Beach Pool the vibe is different, and a lot more active. The themed pool has waterfalls and ‘beach-like’ zero-entry, as well as a waterslide and, nearby, is the n Alice in Wonderland-themed splash play area for children which features whimsical teacups and the Mad Hatter’s hat.
The Beaches Pool Bar & Grill, meanwhile, services up refreshing drinks and snacks - including speciality cocktails, beers and wine. The quick-service dining menu has salads, sandwiches, burgers, desserts,
Fancy extra luxury and service? You can hire a private cabana for the day for you and your party. At Grand Floridian, the cabana comes with 2 comfortable, padded loungers as well as a couch sitting area. Each one has a smart TV, a fan, a mini-fridge stocked with drinks, and a basket of snacks.
On top of that the area has its own concierge, and a private dining service will bring food and drink to your cabana (at an extra charge).
For when guests need a fitness top-up in between their park time and down-time, the Grand Floridian has its own gym and fitness centre.
The Grand Floridian Spa offers a luxurious escape, with a range of treatments from massages to facials. It’s an indulgent way to unwind after a busy day at the parks, though treatments here are an additional cost.
Fun for the family
Children staying at the Grand Floridian are in for a treat!
The resort offers a variety of activities tailored to younger guests including a games arcade, basketball, fishing in Disneyworld’s Seven Seas Lagoon, or the family can arrange a boat trip around the lagoon.
As you’ll find across Disneyworld, the resort teams also organise fun seasonal activities for kids and the whole family around the popular holidays.
Night-time Entertainment
When the sun sets, the fun doesn’t stop!
As well as the resorts restaurants and bars, guests can also take in Grand Floridian’s ‘Movies under stars’ outdoor cinema spot, the screenings take place four nights a week starting at 7:30pm.
Or how about the must-not-miss experience of melting smores over the Grand Floridian’s campfire at the beach.
The Grand Floridain is one of five Disneyworld resorts from which guests can take in the vibrant illuminated Electrical Water Pageant. The parade of music and floats, covered in thousands of lights, typical passes the Grand Floridian at around 9:15pm - the deluxe Disneyworld resort is an ideal place to see it.
The resort, of course, also has an unrivalled view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks viewed across the lagoon. For a more exclusive fireworks experience, guests can also take a private Fireworks Cruise from the Grand Floridian’s marina.
Final thoughts
As you would expect from a deluxe Disneyworld resort, the Grand Floridian is not short of facilities or entertainment. Especially, it is also home to some of Disneyworld’s most exclusive premium experiences.
