Fly

Whether you’re flying on a regional, or domestic flight, or visiting the UK for your trip to Alton Towers there’s a choice of airports.

The closest to Alton Towers is The East Midlands Airport, near Nottingham and Leicester, is around 50-minute drive away. 

Birmingham International Airport is slightly further, but, have more inbound routes to choose from. Its just over an hour away (depending upon traffic).

Alternatively, both Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Manchester Airport are also nearby, between an hour and ten minutes and an hour and a half away, depending on the time of day and traffic.

From the airport, guests may choose to get a private transfer, get a train, or hire a car.

Train

If you’re arriving by train, you have two station options. 

Uttoxeter Station is the nearest, located about 10 miles away, which means it is about 20 minutes by taxi or 30 minutes by bus.

Otherwise, Stoke-on-Trent station is also close, which would take about 25 minutes by taxi. 

Both stations provide easy access to the resort for those using public transportation​.

Drive and park

For guests driving themselves to the resort, Alton Towers is easily accessible from both the M1 and M6 motorways. 

It is recommended that drivers should follow signposts to Alton Towers once near the park. Becare with your sat-navs - check your routes ahead of time to make sure you don’t end up behind a tractor on a small local farm track.

Car parking is available on-site, but it is only free if you’re staying overnight in the resort accommodations (including CBeebies Land Hotel, the Enchanted Village and Stargazing Pods).
