As one of Disney World’s premier resorts, centrally located on Disney property, getting to Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is straightforward.
Whether you’re flying in, taking a train, or driving, the resort offers convenient and efficient transport links.
Orlando International Airport (MCO)
The closest airport to the Grand Floridian is Orlando International Airport (MCO), located approximately around 17 miles from the resort.
This means a transfer time of about 30 minutes by car, depending on traffic. If you’re taking an Uber, you can expect to pay between $35 to $50 for a one-way trip, making it an affordable and hassle-free option.
Sadly, Disney no longer offers the ‘Magical Express’ coach transfer service from MCO, but there are several private transfer operators running from MCO to all the Disney resorts.
For those flying into Orlando Sanford International Airport, it’s a bit further at about 33 miles, with an estimated transfer time of around 45 minutes by car. An Uber from here will cost approximately $60 to $85.
So whatever you need - from a bus, mini-bus, or a sedan - there are helpful websites to book your pick-up before you leave home.
By train to Orlando station
If you’re travelling by train, the nearest Amtrak station is Orlando Station, located about 20 miles from the resort. The transfer time is approximately 25 to 30 minutes by car.
A recent addition to guests’ travel options is Florida's Brightline rail service is a high-speed rail line connecting the Orlando International Airport (MCO) with other major cities in Florida, particularly Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.
So this may allow more flexibility if your plans see you flying into another Florida airport, or if you’re planning a split-stay trip.
There are no complimentary shuttle services from the train station to the Disney resorts, but all the airport's usual transfer options are available.
Driving to Disney’s Grand Floridian
For guests who prefer to drive, Disney’s Grand Floridian is well-connected by road.
Grand Floridian is located just off Interstate 4, which means it has good road access by car.
Guests can park on-site, and it is complimentary for hotel guests during their stay.
Once parked, guests can leave the car in the resort car park and make use of Disney’s internal shuttle system to get around the parks without needing their car.
Multiple options for a stress-free arrival
Whether you’re flying in, taking the train, or driving, getting to Disney’s Grand Floridian is (relatively) simple and hassle-free.
With a range of transport options available and helpful on-site shuttles to get you around Disney’s attractions, you can focus on enjoying your magical vacation from the moment you step foot out of the airport.
