How to get to the Disney World theme parks from the Art of Animation Resort

2 min read

The Art of Animation Resort, one of Disney World’s ‘value’ hotels, benefits from easy access to all the theme parks, plus its also home to one of the newer and more popular means of transport ‘on property’.

For guests staying at Art of Animation getting to any Disney World theme park is going to be pretty straightforward.

Here, we take a closer look at the transport options for travelling to the parks from Art of Animation.

Buses

Guests staying at Art of Animation can get Disney World’s complimentary bus services straight from the resort to the park entrances.

Separate buses run every 20 to 35 minutes to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs.

Taking the Disney World resort buses is an easy option, but during peak season it would be recommended that guests allow plenty of time if they’re heading to the parks for the early morning ‘rope drop’.

Disney Skyliner

The Skyliner gondola cable-car network, opened in 2019, is the standout option for getting from the Art of Animation Resort to some of the parks.

It connects the Caribbean Beach, Riviera, Pop Century and Art of Animation resorts to the EPCOT and Hollywood Studios parks. Guests can also choose to hop from EPCOT onto a monorail to Magic Kingdom (but getting the bus directly from the hotel would probably be easier).

The Disney Skyliner station serving Disney's Art of Animation Resort is shared with Disney's Pop Century Resort.

The station is at the centre of the ‘Generation Gap Bridge’ over Hourglass lake that connects the two resorts.

For guests staying at Art of Animation, the Little Mermaid, Lion King, or Finding Nemo sections are closest, whilst the walk is a bit longer from the Cars area.

Once on the Skyliner, from Art of Animation, the next stop is Caribbean Beach, and then the closest park is EPCOT, another 10 minutes away, whilst to Hollywood Studios it will take around 15 minutes.

Typically, up to 10 people will fit in a Skyliner gondola and unlike the buses each one departs every few minutes. But, the whole system stops running during inclement weather or when a thunderstorm is in the Orlando area.

Not only is the Skyliner very convenient, it's fun too. Not to mention that the unique aerial views of Disney World are a real bonus.

Since the Skyliner came into operation in 2019, it has elevated guest experiences at Art of Animation.

Thoughts …

The complimentary transport options at Art of Animations are just one of the reasons that the resort is popular among guests.

Especially, the travel perk Art of Animation has over some other cheaper Disney World resorts is the Skyliner.

Getting from Art of Animation to any of the Disney World theme parks is pretty straightforward and relatively painless.

Like all ‘on-site’ resorts, complimentary transport directly to the park entrances is a major perk and selling point for a Disney World hotel. Whether taking the bus or the Skyliner, guests won’t have to wait too long for their transport.
