Universal Orlando Resort will this week open the portals of Epic Universe to a select number of guests - find out here if you qualify for ‘preview access’ to the brand new theme park.

Epic Universe officially opens on 22 May to the general public, but I’m sure you’ve probably seen clips of your favourite influencers and youtubers make their way around the new park during special invite-only previews.

Now, starting from Thursday 17 April, even more guests will be allowed in to experience the park ahead of the grand opening next month. But, who can go?

  • Universal annual and seasonal Passholders
  • Military Freedom Pass ticket holders
  • Universal Rewards VISA card members
  • Universal hotel guests

Guests in these ‘audience groups’ can book day tickets to Epic Universe via the Universal website during the Preview period.

“During the preview, guests can earn the ultimate bragging rights as they’ll be among the first to explore what promises to be one of the most innovative and immersive theme parks ever created,” Universal Orlando said.

“They’ll enjoy next-level thrills and excitement as they encounter awe-inspiring attractions, breathtaking entertainment, delectable dining and themed shopping across five imaginative worlds.”

As the park is open in its ‘Preview’ period, Universal noted that availability of experiences within Epic Universe may vary (in other words, it’s not guaranteed that every attraction will be open).

Universal also hinted that plans to open up the Epic Universe preview for additional ‘audience groups’ in the weeks ahead and the countdown to the 22 May grand opening of the park continues.

Also this week, the Helios Grand Hotel is due to open for the first time - debuting with resort guests from Wednesday 16 April.

The Helios Grand Hotel is located inside Epic Universe itself, overlooking the fountains and statues of the Celestial Park area at the front of the theme park. The resort comprises 500 guest rooms, zero-entry pool, poolside cabanas; fitness center, game room. It is home to the Flora Taverna and Aurora Market dining spots as well as Bar Helios on the hotel’s top floor - looking out over the park.

Guests staying at Grand Helios, meanwhile, benefit from a dedicated entrance to Epic Universe straight from the lobby.

Universal’s Epic Universe park features five themed lands: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe.
