As it is one of Disney World’s largest properties Caribbean Beach, there’s lots to do at the resort.

Of course, most days guests will head to the Disney World theme parks. Nevertheless, on resort days there are plenty of activities and amenities for guests to enjoy.

Whether it’s family fun and relaxation in the resort’s pools, playing volleyball on the sand, fishing, toasting s’mores over the campfire or watching movies under the stars at night, there’s something for everyone’s itinerary.

Here, we take a closer look at what’s on offer at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Pools

Caribbean Beach has a total of six pools, with the Fuentes del Morro pool being the resort’s main attraction.

Fuentes del Morro Pool is a pirate-themed pool has a zero-entry area, two water slides, and a centrepiece colonial Spanish fort complete with water cannons.

For parents, or those who simply prefer to relax the pool area also has a large whirlpool spa pool.

Smaller guests will enjoy the splash play zone right next door.

Poolside, meanwhile, the Banana Cabana pool bar serves up drinks, quick bites, and snacks.

The resort’s recreation staff lay on games, activities, and contests throughout the day. So it’s very much the lively hub of the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Around the resort, there are five other smaller and more relaxed pools. One at each of the resort’s five Caribbean villages.

Be active

Despite its large size and many activities, the Caribbean Beach Resort doesn’t have its own gym - but guests staying here may still get their fill of exercise.

The resort has a jogging (or walking) trail, around the resort and its lake. It’s close to a kilometre in distance - or 0.6 miles - so for most guests a lap will be enough to stretch your legs and get your cardio going.

Otherwise, at the Martinique village guests can play volleyball on the sandy courts.

For something a little different, guests can take a guided fishing trip, with the boat leaving from the resort’s Caribbean Cay. The guided boats include all the tackle, bait and equipment plus Coca-Cola refreshments.

It is recommended that guests book in advance because availability is limited.

Nighttime activities

When the sun sets, the fun doesn’t stop. Guests can head to Banana Cabana for a tropical drink while enjoying the beautiful lakeside views, or take in some of the resort’s other nighttime activities.

Like most of the Disney World resorts, guests staying at Caribbean Beach Resort will find a campfire where guests can join resort staff in toasting s’mores - or simply sit and enjoy the fireside atmosphere.

At Caribbean Beach, the campfires at found in the Martinique area, and they’re attended between 6pm and 7pm.

Elsewhere, in the Caribbean Cay Island area, guests can get comfy six nights a week (not Saturdays) to enjoy Disney Movies Under the Stars, which is pretty much as it sounds - an outdoor cinema experience on the resort grounds.

Details of what movies are being screened and when are available at the front desk, so its probably worth looking up on your check-in day if there’s something in particular you’d want to watch.

Shop

For guests who haven’t had their fill of retail, or haven’t quite found the merchandise they were looking for at the gift shops in the theme parks or at Disney Springs - the Caribbean Beach Resort’s Old Port Royale is worth checking out.

Stocking everything from the essentials, snacks, drinks and souvenirs, and even some merchandise unique to the Caribbean Beach Resort, the on-site shop may be the spot for you.

Thoughts …

Caribbean Beach is one of Disney World’s larger and higher-capacity resorts, so it is no surprise that it has a good offering of activities and amenities to relax and entertain guests.

Whether your resort days are spent by the pool, or by being more active, there’s probably something for you at Caribbean Beach Resort.

Whilst it doesn’t have a gym or spa, like to more expensive deluxe resorts (or one or two other Disney World hotels), this ‘moderate’ category resort has more amenities and things to do compared to the ‘value’ hotels.
