Coronado Springs is a larger Disney World resort, spanning its three areas (Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas) plus a conference centre and Grand Destino Tower - and it is not short of things to do.
Whether you’re looking for relaxation or activities to keep the kids entertained, this resort has something for you.
Swimming pools
Coronado Springs’ Dig Site is arguably one of the top hotel pools in Disney World.
It’s a large pool complete with a good-sized waterslide, about 120 metres long, and a giant (50-foot) Mayan pyramid waterfall that’s an Instagram go-to photo opportunity.
The pool has a good supply of swimming vests, sun loungers and has a big hot-tub for the adults to relax in.
Right next to the Dig Site pool is the Siestas Cantina pool bar.
Besides the main pool, the Casitas, Ranchos and Cabanas each have their own pools. These are quieter and more relaxed than the Dig Site, and are well suited to relaxing afternoon’s in the Florida sun.
Sport and fitness
Coronado is unique among Disney World’s ‘moderate’ level resorts as, unlike the others, it has a gym.
In fact, there’s two fitness centres, one in Grand Destino Tower and the La Vida Health club in the Casitas area.
Guests who prefer to exercise in the fresh air, meanwhile, will enjoy taking a run (or walk) around the resort jogging track.
Or, for a more fun and competitive workout, there’s the beach Volleyball court next to the Dig Site pool.
Recreational activities
Guests of all ages will find an entertaining activity at Coronado Springs.
Young ones will have great fun at the archaeology themed playground, near the dig site, as well as the Iguana Arcade for video games and pinball.
Meanwhile, creatives will enjoy the Spanish Mosaic Art and/or the Colors of Coronado Painting Experience, these art masterclass experiences are charged at an additional fee.
Nighttime entertainment
Guests can enjoy a meal or drink in Coronado’s restaurants and bars, especially at the Dahlia Lounge, the tower-top bar with a balcony that overlooks the resort and most of the theme parks.
Or, for families, you can take in a Movie Under the Stars - a favourite source of evening entertainment at resorts all across Disney World.
Thoughts …
Guests staying at Coronado Springs are generally there because they’re visiting the Disney World theme parks, or are there for a business trip and a conference.
For either group, the on-site activities aren’t necessarily the priority.
Nevertheless, anyone staying here should find something to entertain themselves.
