Pop Century's Hippy Dippy pool at nighttime

What’s to do at Disney’s Pop Century Resort

2 min read

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is more than a stylish, nostalgic hotel - besides being a popular hub for your theme park trip, it also has plenty to keep guests entertained on more relaxed resort days.

Whether you're looking to unwind by the pool, let the kids burn off some energy, or catch a movie, this resort has something for everyone.

Dive into retro-themed fun

Pop Century boasts three themed swimming pools, each inspired by different decades.

The resort’s main pool, the 1960s-themed ‘Hippy Dippy Pool’ is the star. The large fun pool has flower-shaped water jets that spray into the pool, it has ample space in and out of the water and its popular with family groups.

The Bowling Pool, in the 1950s-themed area, is a pretty standard swimming pool but the pool itself is shaped like a bowling pin.

In the 1990s area Computer Pool is an example of inventive creativity - though some guests might need an aerial view to grasp how Disney has put clever design on a basic rectangular pool to ‘transform’ it into a retro desktop computer, meanwhile, poolside, a super-sized floppy disk gives dads an excuse to teach kids a technology history lesson!

Towels are provided at the pools, and lifeguards are on duty for much of the day but its recommended that guests check those details when you’re there because times may vary.

Generations games

This nostalgic resort has something for all generations. If you’ve got little ones, the resort offers daily poolside activities like themed games, trivia, and relays at the Hippy Dippy Pool.

There’s also a playground in the 1970s section, ideal for younger children looking to climb and slide.

For kids of all ages (and adults), the Fast Forward Arcade is a great spot to play both classic and modern video games.

Movies and campfires

When the sun sets, you can enjoy Movies Under the Stars at the Hippy Dippy Pool, with complimentary screenings of Disney classics.

It's a perfect way to end a fun-filled day with your family.

Guests can also take part in nightly campfire activities near the Surfer Goofy statue, where marshmallows are roasted for some old-fashioned fun.

Jog through the decades

More energetic guests may choose to enjoy the resort’s 1-mile jogging trail, its particularly popular amongst early risers.

Shop at Pop

There are certainly bigger stores elsewhere on Disney property, and at least one proper shopping trip to Disney Springs is highly recommended for all guests, but the on-site shop at Pop Century is a definitely worth popping into.

Everything POP Shopping & Dining, which was under renovation through the second half of 2024, is envisioned as an immersive and iconic experience bringing to life the resort's nostalgia through its colour and lighting design, as well as new murals and decade-themed art installations.

Shoppers should keep eyes peeled for special items unique to the store, and vintage-inspired merchandise.

Everything Pop is also home to the Pop Century Resort’s food court.

Thoughts …

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a fun, highly-themed Disney World resort. It’s priced in the value category - but in terms of amenities and activities feels like a bit of a step up from the All-Star group of resorts.

Whilst still being a budget-friendly stay, it is packed with things to do to help guests create their own nostalgic memories. From poolside fun to evening entertainment, this resort has something for every age group.

Plus, don’t forget to grab the resort’s unique photo opportunities, especially the giant ‘foosball’ table.
