Besides being a popular hub for the Universal theme parks, there plenty more to Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
With pools, arcade and even its own bowling alley, and a special attrance to the Volcano Bay water park next door, Cabana Bay has lots to keep guests entertained.
Here, we take a closer look at some of the things to do during your stay at Cababa Bay.
Pools, lazy rivers and gym
Cabana Bay Beach Resort has two large pools, each with its own vibe.
The Cabana Courtyard Pool, with a dive tower-themed water slide, is a fun pool for families looking to splash around.
Over at the Lazy River Courtyard, meanwhile, guests can float along the winding river.
Guests can upgrade their pool day by renting a private cabana. Each one has its own loungers, TV, wifi access and a minifridge. They cost between $100 and $250 per day, depending on the time of year and demand.
If you want physical activity, however, there’s Cabana Bay’s Jack LaLanne Physical Fitness Studio. The gym is open daily, and offers a retro-inspired work-out space but with modern equipment.
Arcade and bowling alley
Kids (and grown-ups) will love the resort’s Galaxy Bowl bowling alley, featuring ten lanes of family-friendly fun.
Cabana Bay’s Game-O-Rama arcade is another favourite, with the arcade featuring both classic and newer game machines.
The hotel’s entertainment staff also host games and contests around the pool - perhaps try your hand at hula hoop!
Swizzle Lounge & movie nights
In the evening, guests can unwind at the retro-inspired Swizzle Lounge in the lobby, which serves up a selection of cocktails for grown-ups
At night, there’s also movie screenings by the pool for the whole family. Check with the front desk for showtimes—these events are free for resort guests!
Volcano Bay
Volcano Bay is right on Cabana Bay’s doorstep, it's so close that the hotel has its own entrance to the water park. It makes it super convenient for guests (with a park ticket) to come and go, and there’s tons to do there so you might more than one visit during your stay.
Dominated by the towering Krakatau volcano, this lushly landscaped water park is stacked with slides and attractions.
Volcano Bay has four areas - Krakatau, Wave Village, River Village, and Rainforest Village - and has a good mix of big thrilling slides (including 125 foot trap-door slides), fun group raft slides and smaller childrens slides. It has not one but two ‘rivers’ - a regular, relaxing lazy river and the ‘fearless’ river which is a lively, fast paced and exhillerating river.
The water park’s innovative TapuTapu wearable bands add to the convenience, letting you skip physical lines and hold your place virtually, so you can make the most of your time.
Or, if you just want to relax, then get comfortable on Volcano Bay’s sandy beach, besides the wave pool.
