Where to eat at Disney World’s Wilderness Lodge?

6 min read

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, as one of Disney World’s deluxe resorts, has lots of dining options on-site for guests.

Whether you're looking for a hearty meal, a quick snack, or something sweet, Wilderness Lodge Resort has you covered - nevertheless, the hotel’s location also means there’s lots of nearby dining away from the resort.

Here we take a closer look at the dining spots at Wilderness Lodge.

Roaring Fork

Roaring Fork is Wilderness Lodge’s quick-service restaurant, and as such it has a menu including the likes of burgers, chicken strips, hot and cold sandwiches and salads.

The Bear Claw pastry (a giant cinnamon roll plus nuts and icing, in the shape of a beer’s claw) is a signature item on the Roaring Fork menu. It is a favourite among other popular dessert items like the s’mores cake, Bear mouse, and campfire cupcake.

Roaring Fork is a budget-friendly spot at the deluxe resort, with prices at around $15.00 for most items on the menu. It's especially popular in the morning, for a ‘grab and go’ breakfast as guests head to Wilderness Lodge’s ferryboat that crosses the lake to Magic Kingdom.

Whispering Canyon Café

Whispering Canyon Café is not for the faint of appetite, and it's not for those short on humour either.

The restaurant’s all-you-care-to-eat skillets are the signature dishes here.

The ‘Traditional’ barbecue skillet comes with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, sausage, chicken, smashed potatoes and accompaniments, whilst the ‘Pig’ comprises braised pork belly, ribs, pulled pork, "piggy wings," sausage, smashed potatoes, and accompaniments.

‘Land and Sea’ is a mix of fish and plant-based items, and the ‘Plant-Based’ skillet is full of vegan-friendly proteins including barbecued jackfruit and alternative sausage, wings and ‘beefless’ tips.

The menu also includes both surf and turf entrees like a New York Strip or smoked salmon.

Guests be warned, this restaurant won’t be for everyone. It is Whispering by name, but not by nature - it is quirky and loud to say the least.

Servers are intentionally ‘sassy’ and brash with diners, and there are a bunch of house rules that you won’t find elsewhere at Disney World (probably for good reason!).

For example, every bottle of the restaurant's ketchup is kept on the table of the last family to request it, and there they will stay until the next table asks for ketchup … at which point the whole group has to get up and take all the bottles to the next table. Some find this super fun, as it creates a uniquely engaging dining experience across the dining room.

Perhaps understandably, however, this level of interaction may not be to everyone’s tastes and this can be reflected in mixed guest reviews for the restaurant.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Geyser Point Bar & Grill is a much more casual spot, overlooking the lake and close to the pool, it's a popular spot for both lunch and dinner.

The menu serves up a mix of small plates as well as charcuterie, ribs, wings and guest favourites like burgers, salads and sandwiches - and don’t forget deserts!

In terms of refreshments, there’s a good selection of cocktails, beers and wines as guests would expect from a deluxe Disney resort.

Territory Lounge

Wilderness Lodge’s Territory Lounge is more of a bar than a dining location, albeit it does have a selection of snacks including a cheese and charcuterie board, a ‘flight’ of flavoured popcorn and bacon on a wire.

Drinks-wise the bar is well stocked with feature cocktails, beers, ciders and wines - and, of course, other soft drinks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Story Book Dining at Artist Point

Story Book Dining at Artist Point is the character dining experience at Wilderness Lodge and its a firm favourite with fans of classic old-school Disney.

Here guests enjoy dinning room meet and greet experiences with Snow White and some of the dwarves, as well as the Evil Queen.

It's a fixed-price menu, currently, the price is $67 for adults and $41 for kids, and the restaurant’s themed entree choices include Magic Mirror's slow-braised pork shank, royal prime rib roast, and Bashful’s fish of the day.

For dessert, guests can choose between a Miner’s Treasures platter, a “Poison” Apple mousse, or a Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart.

Blaze Pizza, a quick-service favourite, serves customized pizzas to order at the counter, and baked to perfection in minutes. It’s an affordable, fast, and delicious spot perfect when you’re on the go.

Gideon’s Bakehouse is an extremely popular outlet - don’t believe me, wait till you see the queue - thanks to its massive, gooey and Instagrammable cookies and cakes.

Themed family favourites, T-Rex Café and Rainforest Café combine immersive and interactive dining (one dinosaur-themed, the other set in a jungle). Both menus are stacked with American classics and lots of choices for kids.

Morimoto Asia is a top-notch Asian restaurant offering very tasty favourites such as sushi, giant spring rolls and Peking duck. It serves up a fine-dining twist on traditional flavours.

If you’re on the go, stopping by Morimoto’s quick service window is a must for anyone who loves Asian food.
