The bar at Orchid Court, Royal Pacific's sushi restaurant

Where to eat at Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando

3 min read

Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando has a good selection of dining options, as you’d expect from a ‘signature’ or ‘deluxe’ level theme park hotel.

The resort has sit-down restaurants, a food mart with grab ‘n’ go and ‘quick service’ food items, plus a very decent pool bar serving the staples like pizza and chips (aka fries).

At the same time, Universal CityWalk and all its dining is just a short and pleasant walk away.

Royal Pacific caters to most tastes, so when it comes to food guests certainly won’t go hungry.

Islands Dining Room

The Islands Dining Room is home to Royal Pacific’s Polynesian-inspired menu.

It delivers a laid-back ambience with a family-friendly selection of dishes as well as South Seas specialities.

Breakfast is served a la carte - with cooked breakfasts, eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, pancakes, waffles, and ‘breakfast pizzas’ - or alternatively as a breakfast buffett (priced at $32 per adult, and $17 per child).

For dinner, the menu is stacked with island flavours from the Krab Rangoon, short-rib sweet potato egg rolls, and shrimp tempura starters, to a variety of stir fry, curry and noodle dishes from the wok. Or, how about sticky ribs, Tokyo-style steak, Thai half-chicken or Teppanyako vegan ‘steak’.

Jake’s American Bar

Jake’s American Bar is a lively and well-themed restaurant (celebrating a fictional American explorer of the South Seas, whose plane can be seen in the lagoon outside the hotel).

It is open for lunch and for dinner. The menu features classic American fare, along with some more far-flung flavours.

Favourite dishes at Jakes include ‘The Aviator’ barbecue brisket, pizzas and flatbreads, the ‘B-1 Short Rib Bomber Burger’, ‘Jake’s Rib-eye Steak’, along with the Chicken & Waffles.

Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar

For fans of sushi, the Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar is the place to be.

With fresh sushi and sashimi accompanied by Japanese whiskeys and Sake it is a popular choice.

Bula Bar & Grille

Poolside, the Bula Bar & Grille serves up tasty bites - serving up all staples you’d expect.

The menu has sandwiches, wraps, burgers, hot-dogs, tacos and pizza along with a good kids menu.

Also, something that can’t be missed is the Bula Ice Cream Shop.

The Spectacular Wantilan Luau

The Wantilan Luau is more of a dining experience, or event, than a restaurant per se.

It’s a dinner show that serves up an authentic Hawaiian buffet and entertainment complete with a pit-roasted pig and live dancers.

Tickets are pricey, but include a buffet and show, making it a memorable experience for families and couples alike.

Quick Bites at Tuk Tuk Market

Located in the hotel lobby the Tuk Tuk Market in the lobby offers grab-and-go items like sandwiches, wok bowls, and gelato.

It’s also a coffee shop, and something of a convenience store (with snacks and soft drinks).

CityWalk dining

Universal’s CityWalk is only a complimentary shuttle bus ride away from Cabana Bay, meanwhile, several of the restaurants on International Drive are either a short walk or a cheap Uber ride away.

Besides fast-food and quick-service chains like Burger King and Panda Express, Universal’s City Walk is home to many other delicious and sometimes immersive dining experiences.

Just some of them, include Vivo Italian Kitchen which serves pasta and classic Italian entrées, Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food for tacos, burritos, and margaritas galore, or for barbecue lovers, there’s Bigfire which has a menu stacked with open-fire cooked proteins.

The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co incorporate story-telling and immersive dining with good eating.

Or, if you want (or need) to catch a game, there’s the NBC Sports Grill & Brew which is a well-done bar restaurant with a pub-style menu and a broad selection of beers.

Thoughts …

Whether you want to eat in hotel, or you fancy venturing into nearby Universal CityWalk, guests staying at Loews Royal Pacific Resort will have plenty of options, for every taste and budget.
