Guests staying at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort won’t go hungry or short of refreshments.
The mid-range Universal hotel in Orlando has a good range of dining with diverse dining options to suit most tastes and budgets - considering the size and price point, Cabana Bay has a stacked food offering.
Guests can grab a quick snack, sit down for a family meal, or sip a cocktail by the pool.
Here, we take a closer look at what Cabana Bay is serving up.
Bayliner Diner
The Bayliner Diner is the heart of Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It’s a quick-service food court with food stations from staples like burgers, pizza and pasta, to international dishes including stir frys, mojo chicken, and Brazilian Churrasco.
This restaurant is laid out like a retro diner, in keeping with Cabana Bay vintage theming.
With most entrees priced between $10 and $20, its a budget-friendly spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Galaxy Bowl Restaurant
Galaxy Bowl - a restaurant and a bowling alley - serves up classic American favourites like burgers, wings and chicken tenders.
Here the food is only part of the attraction though, the bowling costs between $10 and $17 per adult.
Altogether it makes for a fun, affordable and unique-to-Cabana-Bay dining experience.
Shakes Malt Shoppe
Cabana Bay’s ice cream parlour and milkshake spot is a popular drop-in for guests staying at the resort.
The Shoppe serves up scoops for under $10 and sundaes for not much more, as well as shakes, floats and smoothies.
Starbucks
Well, it is a Starbucks. I’m sure you know what to expect! - a range of hot and cold coffees, bakery items and sandwiches.
Sizzle Lounge
Sizzle is Cabana Bay’s bar and live music venue. It has a drinks menu that’s choked full of choices with nearly 20 different beers, twelve cocktails, and eight whiskies as well as a range of wines.
Live music is on Friday and Saturday nights.
Atomic Tonic and The Hideaway Bar & Grill
The Atomic Tonic, located by the Cabana Courtyard pool, and The Hideaway Bar & Grill near the Lazy River Courtyard, offer light bites and refreshing cocktails. They serve sandwiches, wraps, and salads for around $10 to $15.
These spots are perfect for sunny afternoons in the sun.
Dine on CityWalk
Universal’s CityWalk is only a complimentary shuttle bus ride away from Cabana Bay, meanwhile several of the restaurants on International Drive are either a short walk or a cheap Uber ride away.
Besides fast-food and quick-service chains like Burger King and Panda Express, Universal’s City Walk is home to many other delicious and sometimes immersive dining experiences.
Just some of them, include Vivo Italian Kitchen which serves pasta and classic Italian entrées, Antojitos Authentic Mexican Food for tacos, burritos, and margaritas galore, or for barbecue lovers, there’s Bigfire which has a menu stacked with open-fire cooked proteins.
The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co incorporate story-telling and immersive dining with good eating.
Or, if you want (or need) to catch a game, there’s the NBC Sports Grill & Brew which is a well-done bar restaurant with a pub-style menu and a broad selection of beers.
Alternatively, the Endless Summer resorts are conveniently located immediately at the top of the ‘i-drive’ area, which means there’s a great choice for even more dining. Being ‘offsite’, away from the trapping of the theme parks, some of these restaurants are certainly more affordable, and most are recognizable chains familiar to American and international guests alike.
Nearest is IHOP (aka the ‘International House of Pancakes) which is perfect for big, hearty breakfasts, all day! Also in the vicinity is Miller’s Ale House, a popular spot for casual American fare known for generous portions, or there’s Shake Shack with its burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and creamy shakes.
CiCi’s Pizza, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and the Capital Grille to name just a few, are also among the popular choices in this part of Orlando. Though, to be honest, there’s no shortage of restaurants here, and Google and Google Maps search will be your friend
