Guests staying at The Heritage, in the Laois countryside, need not venture from the hotel’s comfy confines in search of food … as there are great options here.
From sophisticated sit-down meals to more casual bar bites, with a view, The Heritage has something for all tastes.
Blake’s Restaurant
Blake’s Restaurant is the resort’s main dining spot, serving up a menu of delicious dishes that emphasise locally sourced ingredients.
It is a cultured a la carte menu, striking a balance between being upscale whilst still accessible and inviting.
Dishes aren’t cheap, but are well regarded and aren’t excessively expensive either - with mains generally priced between €30 and €39. Each menu item is paired with a recommended accompanying wine.
In all, Blakes is suitably fancy for this luxury retreat and rural business hotel.
Seven Bar
The Heritage’s spacious Seven Bar looks out to the Slieve Bloom Mountains, and serves up a classy drinks menu including classy speciality cocktails, a few ‘spritz’ cocktails as well as a selection of classic Martinis, gin fusions and mixes - and, for the tee-total a number of ‘mocktails’ too.
On the taps are draught beers from Guinness to Smithwicks, RockShore, Moretti and Orchard Thieves cider, along with a good selection of bottled beers in the fridges.
As you’d expect the menu comprises a good number of Irish Whiskey, as well as American Bourbon and Scotch, along with an array of gins, vodkas, rums and tequillas.
When it comes to food, guests won't be short on choice with the menu including a selection
With prices from €20 (or €14.50 for a classic cheese pizza) the Seven menu is priced cheaper than in the Blake restaurant.
The Terrace
Whether it is a sunny day or not, The Terrace at Seven is a popular spot to chill out and socialise.
The outdoor seating area attached to the bar is both covered and heated, whilst being positioned to view the hotel’s esteemed golf course with a drink and/or a bite to eat.
Afternoon tea
Afternoon tea at The Heritage is served in the Galleria, with guests treated to pastries, scones, cakes, as well as savoury bites, along with teas, coffees, cocktails, prosecco or Champagne.
Chalie’s private dining
For corporate guests, private functions or special family occasions there’s the potentially appealing option of booking Charlie’s private dining - where up to 40 guests can meet and mingle in the private dining room. Guests looking for private dining should enquire to the hotel’s front desk or events staff ahead of time.
Room service
Guests staying at THe Heritage can order room service for in-room dining 24/7.
The room service menu features favourites from the bar menu including the buttermilk chicken, steak burger, small plates and salads, as well as indulgent desserts, wines and Champagne.
Thoughts …
The Heritage has the sort of dining offering that guests come to expect from a luxury country retreat hotel, and the selection of food options should not disappoint.
