The Heritage, at Killenard, in the Laois countryside, is a luxurious and comfortable retreat hotel - and this is very much reflected in the hotel’s room choices.
From its stylish and comfortable ‘Deluxe King’, to its family rooms, or two-bedroom suites and the more exclusive Penthouse apartments, the Heritage likely has the room to best suite its guests’ needs.
Here we take a closer look at the room option at The Heritage.
Standard rooms: Doubles and twins
Standard rooms at The Heritage are finished to a high standard including a king-size bed (twin rooms are available too), with high-quality linens, and en-suite bathrooms that have both a bath and shower.
The standard rooms include tea and coffee facilities, and complimentary toiletries.
There are enough power outlets, but we’d always recommend guests travel with their own USB adapter block - there’s nothing as frustrating as a phone running low on charge during your trip.
Superior King
Upgrading to a superior room, gives guests a bit more space and a bit more luxury,
The Superior King Room spans 338 square feet and adds quality touches such as plush bathrobes and slippers, as well as larger bathrooms with a separate soaking tub and standalone shower.
Deluxe King
The Deluxe King Room promises both comfort and style, with the added perk of a balcony giving guests the opportunity sit in the fresh air and take in the views across the Laois countryside as far as the Slieve Bloom mountains.
Indeed, featuring a king-sized bed and a spacious bathroom with a separate soaking tub and shower, this room option is luxurious upgrade.
Guests are provided with tea and coffee facilities, including a Nespresso machine, as well as slippers and robe, and good quality complimentary toiletries.
Superior family room
Superior Family Rooms are spacious enough for up to three adults or two adults and two children, and cots are available upon request.
These rooms also offer a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and a standalone soaking tub.
Junior Suite
Upgrading to a Junior Suite gives guests even more room, with these rooms designed to offer an elevated experience. At around 760 square feet, these rooms are nearly twice the size of the Superior and Deluxe rooms.
With a bedroom with a king-sized bed, as well as distinct living and dining areas, Junior Suites at The Heritage are ideal for families or couples wanting more room to relax.
The bathrooms are luxurious, also featuring the separate soaking tub and high-end toiletries.
Guests staying in a Junior Suite can also make use of the ‘executive’ desks, should they need to do any work during their stay. Complimentary daily newspapers are also provided to guests.
Another perk for those staying in a Junior Suite is the nightly ‘turn-down’ service, with this extra piece of housekeeping adding a sense of luxury during your stay.
The addition of an electric fireplace adds to the cozy and romantic setting that these suites provide.
Two-bedroom Suite
The Heritage’s two-bedroom, or ‘group’ suite, sleeps up to six guests in luxury.
These suits, as the name suggests, comprise two separate bedrooms plus a separate living and dining area.
They’re appointed with all the same features and perks as found in the Junior Suites.
Penthouse Apartments
Perfect for longer stays, or larger groups the Penthouse Apartments at The Heritage are another appealing upgrade option for a stay at this countryside hotel.
The large, spacious apartments overlook the hotel’s Seve Ballesteros designed championship course (the only one in Ireland designed by the late, great Spaniard).
They have two separate bedrooms - a king, and a twin room - each with their own ensuite bathroom.
Apartments also have their own fully equipped kitchens, including washing machines.
With balconies overlooking the golf course, these apartments are a natural choice for guests looking to both relax and entertain.
