Standard room at Boardwalk Inn resort at Disney World

Which rooms to book at Disney World’s BoardWalk Inn

3 min read

BoardWalk Inn, one of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts, has much more than standard accommodations for guests.

The hotel is in a prime position in one of the most desirable parts of Disney World, the Boardwalk area, just outside EPCOT’s France pavilion, near the Friendship Boats transport, monorail and Skyliner.

Besides the nearby parks and park transport, the Boardwalk area itself is an attraction in its own right, with the lakeside walkway lined with some of Disney World’s favourite food spots, diners and restaurants - as well as the Swan & Dolphin, Beach & Yacht Club resorts.

In terms of the accommodation at Boardwalk Inn, as a part of DVC, Disney’s timeshare-like programme, the rooms and suites at Boardwalk are designed to be more comfortable and have more space and more home comforts.

These accommodations are designed to accommodate families and, depending on the room type, larger groups.

Here we take a closer look at the room options for guests considering a booking at Disney World’s Boardwalk Inns.

Standard rooms

The standard rooms at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn come in a number of layouts, sleeping up to five guests - a king bed and day bed, two queen beds, one king bed or two queen beds and a day bed. For families with young children, cribs and pack 'n play options are available upon request.

These rooms have their own patios or balconies, and, come with either a resort view or a water view (meaning lake or pool).

The bathrooms feature a shower and a tub, plus complimentary toiletries.

Whilst it is a DVC resort, there aren’t kitchen facilities in the standard rooms but they do have a mini-fridge, coffee machine and tea making facilities - guests also have access to room service.

Guests can upgrade their stay to club level, where they’ll receive guest concierge services as well as access to the Innkeeper’s Club for more exclusive continental breakfasts, snacks through the day, and hors d’oeuvres, drinks and desserts through the evening.

Standard, resort view, rooms are available on the Club Level.

Deluxe rooms

Another upgrade option at Boardwalk Inn are the deluxe rooms.

These come with similar bed layouts as the standard rooms but, larger floor space, bigger bathrooms and Club Level access. They have two queen beds and 1 queen size sofa bed, to accommodate up to six adults.

Suites

For families or groups that need more space, and luxury, there’s Boardwalk’s 2 Bedroom Suits which can sleep up to eight guests - with a kind bed, two queen beds, and one queen size sofa bed.

Alternatively, for an even more exclusive option, there’s the Sonora VP suite which is especially spacious, and luxuriously sleeps up to six.

Deluxe studios

Studios sleep five guests - each with a queen-sized bed, a double sofa bed and a single pull-down bed. These rooms also feature kitchenettes with a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster and coffee maker.

Villas

There are two sizes of villas at Boardwalk Inn.

There are one-bedroom villas - either with views of the Boardwalk, the resort, the garden, or the pool. These sleep up to four guests with a king bed and one queen size sofa bed.

These villas have a full kitchen along with a dining area and living areas, plus washing machines and dryers so guests can keep on top of their laundry during their stay.

Boardwalk’s three-bedroom Grand Villas are the largest room type available, sleeping up to twelve guests.

Cleaning, laundry, check-in and check-out

Disney World’s BoardWalk Inn provides housekeeping service, although the frequency will depend upon whether guests are staying via DVC or as a regular one-off resort guest - if in doubt, check it out with the front desk before you’re stay or when you arrive.

Guests also have access to laundry services at the resort, and, indeed, certain room types (suites and villas) tend to have their own washer and dryers in the accommodation.

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM on your arrival day, and check-out is at 11:00 AM for departure.

An early check-in or late check-out may be available, but its always advisable to enquire with the resort’s front desk with plenty of notice.

Thoughts …

The Boardwalk Inn resort is one of the most popular hotels on Disney World property, and, given its array of room options and high standard of accommodation it is no wonder that the resort is in demand - especially with larger families with sufficient budgets.

It is definitely not a cheap resort to stay at, but certainly it is highly rated for a reason.

So whether guests are looking for a standard room in a top Disney World resort, in a prime location near Epcot, or whether a luxurious suite is the preference, or whether you’ve got a multi-generational trip planned and need enough space for everyone, then it is likely that the Boardwalk Inn will have a room option to suit you!
