Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts, located in the Boardwalk area, in walking distance from Epcot and the Monorail, are two of the most desirable resort hotels at Walt Disney World.
These are Deluxe level Disney World resorts that capture comfort and elegance, whilst delivering a high-quality guest experience so close to the parks.
They are effectively twin resorts, with many aspects mirrored across both resorts, but each retains a charm of its own. So, the Beach Club and Yacht Club each offer unique vibes and room configurations that cater to a variety of guest preferences.
Primarily, these are Disney Vacation Club hotels but there’s often plenty of availability for regular Disney World guests - although, as DVC takes priority, you may not be able to book here quite as far in advance as you would at other resorts.
Here, we take a closer look at the rooms and suite options available at the Beach Club and Yacht Club hotels.
Overview
Beach Club and Yacht Club are deluxe-category resorts located near the Boardwalk, in the Epcot resort area.
It is walkable access to both Epcot (via International Gateway, at the bottom of World Showcase, next to the France Pavilion) and Hollywood Studios, meanwhile, the Monorail, Skyliner and Friendship boat transportation options are all also close by, and walkable.
The Beach Club is styled like a breezy New England beach cottage, with pastel tones and casual charm.
By contrast, The Yacht Club aims for a more sophisticated nautical aesthetic, with dark wood finishes and a maritime theme.
Each hotel has its own separate check-in desk, but the two resorts share pools, dining, transportation, and other guest amenities.
Standard Room Layouts and Features
Standard rooms at both resorts are practically identical in layout, measuring around 381 square feet.
Rooms are generally configured to sleep up to five guests. Typically set up as two queen beds plus a single daybed. But, not every room has a daybed, so if your party is smaller than five, be sure to make a request in advance, if that’s needed.
There’s also an option to have a room with one king bed, best suited for couples.
Some king rooms also include a sleeper sofa or daybed. Again, advance room requests are your friend if your party needs particular sleeping arrangements.
All rooms are equipped with a Keurig coffee maker, beverage cooler (not a full refrigerator), USB ports, a large TV, and a dresser with ample storage.
The beds are raised, providing enough room underneath to be a convenient under-bed storage space for luggage.
Bathrooms feature a dual-sink vanity separate from the toilet and tub/shower area, ideal for families getting ready all at once, which is ideal on busy park mornings.
Rooms with views
Resort View rooms are typically the most budget-friendly and may face parking lots, rooftops, or wooded areas.
Water View rooms come at a premium price and offer a scenic atmosphere overlooking Crescent Lake, Stormalong Bay (the resort’s feature pool), or the resort’s quiet pools.
The rooms on higher floors and unobstructed lake views are especially popular, meanwhile, some water view rooms overlooking pools may experience some extra daytime noise.
Deluxe and Club rooms
Guests wanting more space can opt for a Deluxe Room. These are larger than standard rooms and can sleep up to six guests with two queen beds and a queen-sized sleeper sofa.
Club Level rooms are located on the fifth floor and include access to exclusive lounges - Stone Harbor at Beach Club and Regatta Club at Yacht Club.
Lounges serve daily refreshments, continental breakfast in a more exclusive setting, evening hors d’oeuvres, and concierge services.
While most Club Level accommodations are standard-sized rooms, a handful of suites on other floors also include lounge access.
Club Level is ideal for guests who want an upgraded, more luxurious and convenient experience.
Villas at the Beach Club
For those looking for home-like accommodations, Beach Club offers Disney Vacation Club villas.
Studio villas sleep up to five with a queen bed, pullout sofa, and a Murphy bed.
One and two-bedroom villas include full kitchens, in-unit laundry, dining space, and additional bathrooms, which make them ideal for longer stays or larger families.
All villa guests enjoy access to the full range of resort amenities.
Beach Club vs. Yacht Club
Whilst the rooms are very similar in terms of layout and features, the aesthetic of each is distinctly separate and feels different.
Beach Club has a brighter, beachier vibe, and slightly more variability in balcony sizes, and, Yacht Club’s darker nautical theming creates a more refined ambience.
Beach Club is a few steps closer to Epcot, while Yacht Club is nearer the Friendship Boat dock to Hollywood Studios.
They both share Stormalong Bay, dining venues, and transport access.
Thoughts …
There are more than a few very good reasons why Beach Club and Yacht Club are favourite resort choices for many Disney World guests, and the well-appointed rooms are definitely among them.
